Certificate in Homeland Security

The Certificate in Homeland Security (CHLS) can be completed online with no in-residence requirements.

This 15 credit hour graduate level certificate program is designed for personnel working in the areas of public safety, security management, and law enforcement; executives in corporations responsible for overseeing in-house security programs; military personnel — regardless of duty station; city managers and other city government or public sector positions; and information technology and systems professionals. Criminal justice students — including law students -- interested in enhancing their future career prospects may also benefit from this program by broadening their studies to encompass security within private industry.

Delivered in a 10 week format, the Certificate in Homeland Security (CHLS) requires the completion of 15 graduate credit hours. Currently offered online through the Bush School's Extended Education program, the CHLS courses are grounded in policy and strategy, and allow working professionals and/or graduate students to add a specialization in homeland security to their career or academic plan.
